Programs for International Students
The Beijing Institute of Petrochemical Technology (BIPT) was founded in 1978, growing out of the former Beijing Petrochemical School and the second branch of the Beijing Institute of Chemical Engineering. It got its present name in 1992. The management of the Institute was transferred from the Sinopec Group to the Beijing Municipality in 2000. BIPT is now well equipped with education facilities. It has three campuses located in Qingyuan, Kangzhuang, and Yanshan respectively, covering a land area of 76.7 acres and a construction area totaling 264,000 square meters. The Institute boasts teaching and research equipment worth 580 million yuan, 920,000 physical books and 1.24 million digital books.
After 41 years of construction and development, BIPT has evolved into an established university featuring engineering practice. It takes engineering as its key discipline while exploring the inter-penetrating and coordinative development of disciplines of science, engineering, economics, management and arts. Running 14 departments, BIPT has 37 undergraduate majors, one post-doctoral research station, four first-level master's disciplines, including Materials Science and Engineering, Control Science and Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Business Management, one Professional Master's program of Materials and Chemical Engineering. At present, BIPT has 7396 full-time students and staffs more than 800.
The Institute provides international students with various scholarsips including Beijing "One Belt, One Road" Scholarship, Beijing Scholarship for International Students, Beijing "Forbidden City Scholarship" and BIPT’s scholarships for outstanding students.

Notes: During the winter and summer holidays, the student who needs to stay at school shall pay 40 yuan per day for accommodation.
II. Eligibility
1. The applicant must be a non-Chinese citizen who has reached the age of eighteen and holds a valid passport. Applicants must abide by the laws and regulations of the People's Republic of China and have no criminal record.
2. Bachelor applicants must have finished high school education or have the same academic qualifications. Master applicants must have attained a Bachelor’s degree or provide the undergraduate certification.
3. Applicants must be in good health.
III. Application Materials, Period and Place

First-year students shall be interviewed by the department, which is usually scheduled in May or June. Please contact the department for the time, place and way of interview.
V. Fees (person in charge: Mrs. Zhang, International Students Office, 81292031)
1. Application fee: 500 yuan per person (paid only once for each program).
2. Tuition fee (see Programs and Fees).
3. Accommodation fee (see Programs and Fees).
4. Medical insurance: Foreign students who will stay in China for more than six months must purchase medical insurance in mainland China, as required by the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China. A copy of the insurance certificate or policy shall be submitted to the Institute at the time of registration.
VI. The Application Guide takes immediate effect and is subject to the final explanation of BIPT International Education College.
